NEW YORK – His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros welcomed the leadership of the Order of AHEPA to the Archdiocese, including Supreme President George G. Horiates, Supreme Vice President Jimmy Kokotas, Chairman of the Board Nick Karacostas, and Executive Director Basil Mossaidis.
During their meeting they discussed a number of issues of importance to the Greek Orthodox faithful in America and committed fully to working together on these matters.
Archbishop Elpidophoros expressed his deep appreciation for the support of all members of AHEPA to the Church, and specifically to the rebuilding of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and National Shrine.
It is reminded here that representatives of the Order of AHEPA, including its then-leadership, had met Archbishop Elpidophoros last May at the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople a few days after his election to the Archbishopric Throne of America. The Archbishop also spoke at AHEPA’S Supreme Convention last July.
